The Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu is set to travel out of the country on Monday to meet with key foreign investors to perfect the training of Abia youths on various skills.
In a terse statement by Chief John Okiyi Kalu, the Honorable Commissioner for Information, Abia State, the Governor is expected to meet with other investors in garment industry to boost production in the state
“In furtherance of his industrialization and educational development agenda, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu is expected to travel on Monday, 28th June, 2021, to meet with key foreign partners to among other things formalize relevant agreements on the foreign scholarship scheme which is expected to benefit more than 2,000 qualified Abia youths who will train in various skill areas starting from September 2021.
“While on the foreign Investment drive, Governor Ikpeazu who is expected to return to the state on or before the 8th of July, 2021, will also meet with key foreign investors in the garment and shoe industry in the state as well as engage with investors who previously indicated interest in the Enyimba Economic City Project which was temporarily stalled by the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and its associated restrictions on international travels, and other global economic challenges,” the statement reads.
