Former aide to erstwhile President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri has reacted to the story of a UNILAG student, Chidinma Adaora Ojukwu who reportedly killed her sugar daddy, Usifo Ataga, the Super TV boss.
According to Omokri, Chidinma is a victim of circumstance.
Omokri revealed that the young lady did what she did because her parents failed in carrying out their responsibility appropriately.
Omokri noted that Chidinma was just 21 years old while Mr. Ataga was 50 years old.
He went further to say that Chidinma could have been Mr. Ataga’s daughter because of the staggering age difference between the two lovers. Omokri however called on meaningful Nigerians to stop demonizing the young girl and look for ways of helping her out.
Here is what he said, “Everybody is in a rush to demonize Chidinma. But it takes 2 to tango. She was 21. He was 50. A 29 year age gap. She could have been his daughter. How many of you condemning her were mature at 21? She erred. But is also a victim. Of bad parenting and a bad society”, he said.
This post has so far generated a lot of attention as many Nigerians are reacting to it. The majority of those who reacted to this post agreed that Miss Chidinma is a victim of bad parenting. They however urged parents to give more attention to their children. They also advised young children to learn how to be contented with what they have.
What is your view on this?
•Do you think that Chidinma’s parents failed her?
•Do your think that peer pressure led her into what she did?
•Do you think that her society failed her?
•Do you think that Nigerian society celebrates old men marrying young girls?
•Who do you think should be blamed here?
Reno, you said she is just 21 and erred, that is a complete bulshit and total trash.
At 21, she could stab a man to death.
At 21, she could rush to the man’s bank and withdrew 380k.
At 21, she was able to commit murder and fast enough to change her outfit.
At 21, was able to cook up such a big lie she has been telling the security agent’s.
Reno, you are digressing and stop supporting evil.
I agreed with Mr. Reno, that girl is still young and her problems starts with parenting…. One of my lecturer as far back as 1998 said 95% of truants are from broken homes. Parents needs to be tolerance, stick together for their child(ren) good upbringing.
What was Mr Ataga looking for from that girl sef? maybe what the wife refused to give him… Wives should know that for men, sex is food… you get this type of life (widow) when you refused your husband his blissful right.
The fault also lies with our children that will want to belong by force…. be contented with the little you have.
The overall blame is on our government and the politicians… they are self centered people, no morality in their doings… very corrupt… what do you think the society will do seeing our leaders and people that are in trust of our collective wealth stealing everything and we couldn’t do anything… May God help us
