The stage is getting set for the formal defection of Zamfara state governor, Bello Mattawale from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP where he was elected governor to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
The governor was elected following a Supreme Court judgement that annulled the primary elections of the APC in the state.
The Governors of Kano, Kogi, OGun, Kebbi, Kaduna, Plateau, Katsina, Borno states are been expected at the Zamfara state Trade Centre Gusau, the venue of the event.
As at press time, non of the expected dignitaries is at the venue of the event but supporters of the Governor are trooping in en-mass.
Bello’s defection is causing serious tension in the state as the former governor Abdulaziz Yari and his supporters are likely going to boycott the event.
