A Civil Society group known as Adorable Foundation operating in Bauchi state, has commended the efforts of the Nigeria Police Force in the establishment of the POCACOV initiatives as well as the ongoing efforts in the nationwide campaign against cultism, substance abuse, violent behaviours amongst young minds and other vices.

The group made this known on Thursday when the Bauchi State Coordinator of the group, Mrs Roselyn Haruna and team paid a partnership visit to the Zonal Coordinator of the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices(POCACOV) SP Thomas Goni at Zone 12 Police Headquarters in Bauchi.

Mrs Haruna expressed satisfaction with the coming up of such good initiatives by the Nigeria Police Force that works with different stakeholders and making great impact in the society through constant sensitization and mentoring of young ones and also reorienting them.

“I must have to tell you that we are impressed with the ongoing Nationwide Campaign by the Nigeria Police Force through POCACOV for a better society devoid of violence and drug Abuse. We do the same thing at Adorable Foundation, we are on war against substance and drug abuse and we have found the police program POCACOV as a veritable partner in the campaign hence the need for partnership,” she said.

Responding, the Zonal Coordinator Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices(POCACOV) SP Thomas Goni, welcomed the group and added that substance and drug abuse triggers crime as well as cultism and further pointed out that both POCACOV and Adorable Foundation has the same goal hence the need to collectively pursue it as it concerns everybody.

He further explained that the structure of POCACOV requires working with different stakeholders as a community driven program and as a public relations tool of the Nigeria Police Force involving itself with advocacy, awareness creation/sensitization, mentoring and reorientation thereby saving Nigerian children/youths from the claws of cultism and other vices.
