Nigeria secrete police, the Department of State Services (DSS) has launched a manhunt for Yoruba secessionist movement leader Sunday Adwyemo, populary known as Sunday Igboho, after he escaped arrest when they raided his residence in Oyo state.

At a briefing on Thursday night, the secret police spokesman, Peter Afunanya, said the security agency recovered illegal arms — including seven AK-47 rifles — and thousands of ammunition from Igboho’s house during the raid on Thursday early morning.

The agency also paraded 13 supporters of Chief Igboho who it said attacked its operatives during the raid.

He also displayed charm, weapons, telephone and passports which he said were recovered from Igboho’s house.
