The Special Adviser to Enugu State Governor on Small and Medium Enterprises Development, Hon Arinze Chilo Offiah, said that the Centre through the massive support of His Excellency, Rt Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has registered over 7000 businesses with the Cooperate Affairs Commission (CAC) this year alone.

Chilo Offiah disclosed this on Thursday when his team visited Udi Council area in continuation of Enugu SME Centre local governments sensitisation programme.

The Governor’s aide and Head of Enugu SME Centre enjoined the youths to register their businesses with the cooperative affairs stressing that the benefits that comes with it are enormous and they should make themselves ready for the opportunities when it comes.

Speaking further, Hon. Chilo Offiah enumerated other services available at the centre which the youths can key in and change their stories fir good.

“We offer Human capital development loans to SMEs to help them boost their businesses and it’s the wish of the state government to see that every interested youth benefits from the loan program, because, as you all know, the government can’t employ everyone even if it wants to.

“Other areas we offer support are, ICT, Digital marketing, Fashion and Designing, Automobile, skill acquisition in various areas, etc. and we’re willing to help you if you visit the Centre,” he said.

Chilo Offiah also assured the mammoth crowd that the state Governor through the Centre, is committed to supporting the youths of the state grow and called on them to capitalize on the opportunities which doesn’t attract any financial commitment but their INTEREST and ATTENTION.

In his remarks, the chairman of Udi local government area, Ifeanyi Agu who was accompanied to the event with leaders of the council area applauded the turnout of the youths. He thanked them very well and also encourage them to act on the information they gathered to improve their lives as its obvious Enugu SME has a lot to offer.

Hon. Agu didn’t fail to thank the Governor for his spectacular leadership style of placing square pegs in square holes in terms appointments.

Speaking to Journalist101, some the participants expressed satisfaction with what they have learnt and expressed optimism that they would explore the opportunities they have been exposed to.

Miss Faustina Maurice, thanked the Governor for such an innovative program and said she has no need of running out of the state in search of greener pastures, since she can get what she is looking for at a zero amount here in Enugu.

Mr Ugbor Okwudili, also thanked the Governor for supporting the youths and he promised to utilize the opportunity presented to them.
