The House of Representatives has resolved to probe the murder of Prof. Samuel Ndubuisi, ex-Director General of Scientific Equipment Development Institute (SEDI), Enugu.
Prof Sam Ndubuisi, the former Dean, faculty of Engineering at Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT), Enugu was assassinated by unknown gunmen along the Enugu Port-Harcourt Expressway, very close to the centenary city on Wednesday.
The Federal Government Agency Director was gruesomely murdered alongside his police orderly, Sagt. Ernest Ufuanya while in his official vehicle marked āSEDI 26D 02FGā.
The decision of the green chamber followed a motion of urgent public importance moved by Toby Okechukwu, the member representing Awgy/Aninri/Oji Federal Constituency.
Mr Okechukwu said the late professor ādied in the course of his national dutyā adding that he āwas reportedly killed alongside his police orderly, while his driver sustained grave injuries.ā
The lawmaker raised concerns over the killings in the region, adding that the protection of lives and properties is the main function of any government.
