The Conference of 2019 South East APC House of Assembly Candidates (COSEAPCHOC), have called for calm and reconciliation among aspirants and stakeholders in the just concluded governorship primary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra state.
The group made the appeal at the end of their emergency meeting last Saturday.
In a joint statement signed by the Admin Secretary, Hon. Confidence Chukwuedozie, Publicity Secretary, Hon. Princess Ngozichi Okorie and the coordinators of the group in the South East States, they called on the Minister of Labour, Senator Chris Ngige as the leader of the APC in Anambra state, to galvanize all aggrieved aspirants and stakeholders and bring them to work together for the interest of peace.
Part of the statement reads: “We are fully in support of whatever position the Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) ably led by Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state.
“We are in support of the appointment of reconciliation committee ably led by Governors Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos state and AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State to reconcile the aspirants in respect to the Anambra State APC primaries.
“We plead with all aspirants and stakeholders in the Anambra State APC primaries to maintain peace while we await the final decision of the party.
“That we specifically call on one of our renowed South East leaders and the leader of Anambra State APC His Excellency Distinguished Senator Chris Ngige, the Honourable Minister of Labour to play a fatherly role in the whole affair and bring all dissenting interests and stakeholders in the Anambra APC together.
“We are willing and ready to offer whatever support that can help Anambra APC win the forthcoming governorship election in November 6th 2021.
“We pass a vote of confidence on our South East APC governors in Ebonyi and Imo State (Governors Hope Uzodinma and Dave Umahi), as well as all our leaders in the South East, and trust on their supports to help Anambra APC emerge victorious in the November 6th 2021 governorship election.”
