PDP chieftain, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has reacted angrily to the continued detention of Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo also known as Sunday Igboho alongside his wife.
Igboho was arrested with him wife in Benin Republic while he was making efforts to flee to Germany after he was declared wanted by the Department of State Security, DSS.
The former minister of aviation described her continued detention in Cotonou as the “height of wickedness,” stressing that it’s “Only barbarians, terrorists, cowards, degenerates, reprobates, evil men and devil-worshippers” that detain women which is against international practice even in times of war.
“It is the height of wickedness to arrest & detain Sunday Igboho’s wife, Mama Ayomide, alongside him in Cotonou as they were about to board a plane to Germany. Up till now the lady is still in detention. Even in war women & children are meant to be protected & not targetted.
“Only barbarians, terrorists, cowards, degenerates, reprobates, evil men and devil-worshippers do otherwise. Mrs. Igboho has not been accused of anything and she has not broken any laws. Her “crime”, in the eyes of her tormentors, is simply being the wife of Sunday.
“Leave her alone! Anything less would be cruel. I make this appeal to the authorities in both Cotonu & Nigeria. The women & children of those we perceive as being our adversaries should NEVER be targetted for death, destruction, incarceration, torture, persecution or humiliation,” he tweeted.
