As the world marks International Youths day, the Governor of Enugu State, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has been adjudged as the most youth friendly governor.
In a chat with JOURNALIST101, Comr. Ebube Nebo who’s also the president, Enugu West Youth Peace Forum and Agbaja Youth General Assembly said the Governor has redefined youth participation in governance like never seen before, thus, should be celebrated by all youths across the globe on this day.
Comr. Nebo said that the Governor gave the youths a voice and “without fear nor sentimental favour, we the entire youths of Enugu west unanimously and gladly wish to dedicate today being the INTERNATIONAL YOUTH day to the most youth friendly Governor.
“His Excellency is apolitical in the demonstration of his love, care, concern, development, empowerment and youth inclusion in politics and governance.
“We sincerely wish to state categorically that Enugu state is the number one state with the highest population of youth in governance, youth empowerment, youth employment and youth development.
“Currently, over 90 percent of the appointees of the Governor are youths. When you look at the members of the state House of Assembly, you won’t help but appreciate our Governor.
Comr. Nebo who was recently appointed a Special Adviser to the Governor on Poverty Alleviation said “Enugu State is lucky to have been blessed with a kind hearted Governor.
“A white Lion with an open arm to welcome anyone irrespective of your political lining. This is a Leader that doesn’t feed the ego of political godfathers in making appointments when it comes to the youths.
“His disposition for peace earned him the EZEUDO 1 (King of Peace) in the state and we, the youths of Enugu state are proudly celebrating today because he has given us the enabling environment to thrive and as we celebrate, we fervently pray that God almighty shall keep him healthy and alive for us as we reaffirm our willingness, readiness, courageousness, proudness to love, care and pray for you.”
