Today won’t be forgotten in a hurry by the 15 patients at Parklane General hospital Enugu, their medical bills was paid by Regina Ogbonnaeke Empowerment Foundation, ROEF.
The foundation was at the hospital as part of the activities marking the flag-off ceremony of ROEF ‘Charity project 2021’.
Speaking to newsmen at the hospital premises, Adonu Kingsley Ifeanyi, the Founder/President of the Board of ROEF said he’s at the hospital to say his prayer for according to him; “I pray through charity.”
“What I’m doing today is the advice given to me by my late mother; Madam Regina Ogbonnaeke, whom the foundation was named after. She inspired me to pray through charity.”
Speaking on the amount paid, Mr. Adonu said his foundation paid the sum of Two Million, Seven Hundred and Sixty Thousand Thirty Naira (2,760,030) for the patients in different wards like; the Amenity, New Born, Orthopaedic and General Surgery wards.
He also promised that the gesture isn’t going to be a one off event and it’s part of their 2021 Charity Projects which was flagged off nationally at Abuja on January 30th, 2021.
The beneficiaries expressed great joy and prayed to God to bless the foundation for remembering them at this most difficult time of their lives.
One of them, Mrs Eunice Udeh from Nsude in Udi local government area of Enugu State whose child was discharged over two weeks ago couldn’t hide her child as she showered endless prayers on the foundation.
On how she benefited from the foundation, she narrated that she heard that some people are around and she gathered the courage and cried before the founder who looked at her and asked for her medical bill which was One Hundred and Forty One Thousand Naira (141, 000. 00) and paid same.
