…says owners of the party have spoken
The caretaker committee Chairman of Enugu All Progressives Congress, APC, Dr. Ben Nwoye said the conduct of the party’s local government congresses in the state has vindicated him.
Nwoye, while congratulating the local government Chairmen that was elected “through a democratic process” said “those that that are interested in killing APC in Enugu State are dancing naked in the market square holding parallel congresses against each other and that’s against the directive of the National Secretariat of the APC.
“Those are people who are in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, yet, want to operate in APC. But they have all been exposed. The event of yesterday has vindicated me.
“Before now, they have the story that I’m the problem. They dressed one Chukwunta as their chairman but unfortunately, he couldn’t hold the fort and they are all producing 2-3 Chairmen in the so called Chukwunta-Foreign Affairs-former Senate president sponsored faction.”
Speaking to JOURNALIST101 on the outcome of the primaries, Nwoye maintained that “those who own the party in the state (it’s a movement) have spoken. The APC4APC movement have insisted that democracy must the entrenched at the party level first of all before we go for the General election.
“The APC4APC movement in Enugu State is made up of the founders of this party and they have insisted that we can’t have people that are in PDP and other parties and at the same time operating in APC. You cannot give us ward and LG Chairmen and you aren’t with the party.
“Democracy triumphed yesterday (September 4th) when the APC4APC movement pushed ahead in all the 17 LGAs, mobilised all the elected ward excos in the 260 wards and the 5 delegates in all the wards. They all came out without any form of mobilization because they are the true progressives that have made a choice to be with the party.”
Dr. Nwoye thanked the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, security agencies and the press for monitoring the process across the state nothing that the congresses were held in the public square against what those that wants hijack the party did- writing results in private places like hotels.
Nwoye went further to say that the only existing ward executives in the state are the ones sworn in by him as no other person has the power to swear-in anyone.
