CSP Ebere Amaraizu, the National Coordinator of Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices, POCACOV, has said that the inculcation of Ogene Music by the campaign is for value reorientation
Amaraizu also said that the approach is a community driven, cultural and activity base program to serve as a counter measure against cultism, substance and drug abuse, violent behaviours and other vices.
Amaraizu disclosed this on Friday 3rd September at okpatu community of Udi local government area of Enugu state during the Ogene Music 4 POCACOV Campaign outreach for community peace building and against violent behaviours in communities.
According to Amaraizu, the message content of POCACOV is embedded in the “Egwu Ogene” which is admired by all and sundry.
“We are also looking forward for POCACOV Egwu ogene South East musical fiesta and competition for community peace building and against Cultism and violent behaviour.
“This is in line with the safety and security framework of the Nigeria police force under IGP Alkali Baba Usman Psc (+)NPM fdc aimed at restoring peace in our communities
“We are deepening the campaign in the community using cultural attributes. Don’t forget the fact that POCACOV is a community driven program and public Relations tool of the Nigeria police force and structured in line with the tenets of the community oriented policing, working with different stakeholders and galvanizing their support to resolve issues that has to do with Cultism, substance and drug abuse, violent behaviour and other vices.
“We are partnering with ministries, Department and Agencies like the ministryof culture to approach communities with the POCACOV message embedded in the aspect of culture that is cherished and appealing to community members.
“We are deploying and deep rooting well meaning tactics that involved in strategic communication processes in order to cut the supply chains and conveyor belts.”
