The legal fireworks surrounding who represents Cross River North Senatorial Zone might have come to an end as the President of the Senate, Senator Ahmad Lawan on Wednesday swear in Agom Jarigbe as the Senator representing the zone.
Jarigbe replaces Stephen Odey whom he defeated as the true candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP .
The wearing in of Jarigbe as a Senator followed his victory at the Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court had in a 4-3 judgment delivered by Justice Nweze in February 2021, declared Jarigbe as the duly nominated candidate of the PDP but the Senate President never acknowledged the decision of the apex Court.
Recall that the by-election for Cross River North was conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC following the death of Senator Rose Oko.
