Reno Omokri, former aide to Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan has revealed that the claim by the Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami that micro blogging platform, Twitter has apologised to President Muhammadu Buhari is a “stupid lie”.
Malami, had claimed that tech giant, Twitter apologised to President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration and vowed to abide by Nigeria’s rules.
“The Court should also take a Judicial Notice that Twitter Inc Service had already approached the Defendant with an apology and a promise to be law-abiding to all the countries rules, regulations and policies,” Malami said in a 17-page defence document in the suit before ECOWAS Court.
But Mr. Omokri in a tweet on Friday said his sources revealed the assertion by Malami isn’t true but aimed at massaging the president’s ego
“I reached out to sources and can say categorically that the claim by Nigeria’s Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, that @Twitter has apologised to General Buhari and promised to obey his orders is a stupid lie meant to massage Buhari’s bruised ego.”
