Ibenaku Onoh, the member representing Enugu North Constituency in Enugu State House of Assembly, has added a new feather to his cap by defending his PhD thesis on Corporate Law at the University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus.
The new feat attained by the young Lawmaker has been attracting encomiums from various quarters including social, political and religious groups from the state and beyond.
Among the groups that have congratulated Onoh is the leadership of Enugu North Progressives. The association commended the lawmaker for this conquering new grounds despite all the activities that distract political leaders in his class.
The Group In a statement signed by their Coordinator, Dr Philip Ugwu from Houston, USA on Thursday, stated that Hon Ibenaku Onoh, has become a source of inspiration to the Youths of Enugu State and Nigeria at large.
They stated that they were not surprised at the achievement but astonished by the zeal and seriousness which Ibenaku Onoh showed in making his mark in the legal field devoid of excuses.
According to them ” We the members of the Enugu North Progressives, commends the lawmaker representing our constituency in Enugu State House of Assembly, Hon Ibenaku Onoh, for bagging PhD in Corporate law.
“We are happy to have such an educated, young, vibrant and industrious son, as our lawmaker.
“Hon Ibenaku Onoh, has exhibited an uncommon commitment in service delivery to the people of Enugu North since his emergence in 2019 and we are grateful to God for blessing us with such a talent because, with him, greater things will come to us.

The Group further stated that the Enugu lawmaker has qualified to be called “The Abraham lincoln of Enugu Youths,” as he has shown tenacity in his journey of life.
Profile of Hon. Ibenaku Onoh
Hon Ibenaku onoh was born in 1987 and had his Nursery and primary Schools at Chiazo Nursery and primary School, Enugu where he wrote his common entrance in 1998.
He went on to attend Federal Government College, Enugu where he obtained his SSCE before proceeding to Holborn College London where he obtained foundation certificate in law.
Ibenaku attended the prestigious Brunel University, West London in 2006 and got his LLb in 2009 and proceeded to the School of Oriental and African Studies (University of London) from 2009 to 2010 to obtain his LLM.
Hon ibenaku onoh did not stop there, he proceeded quickly to the prestigious London School of Economics and Political Science and studied international relations at a post graduate Diploma level and graduated in 2011 with a post Graduate Diploma certificate in international relations.
He came back and participated in the one year compulsory National Youth Service, NYSC in 2011 and attended Nigerian Law School in 2012 and graduated in 2013 before he started his law practice at law firm of Chief Chris Uche, SAN as an associate Lawyer in 2013.
During his time as an associate lawyer, he was exposed to various areas of legal practice particularly litigation, corporate practice and high profile election petition matters.
In 2015, he gained employment into the Legal Department of the Central Bank of Nigeria at the CBN Headquarters in Abuja. His time working at the bank afforded him the opportunity to understand the workings of the Nigerian economy and also to understand the dynamics of the Nigerian public service.
In 2017, he resigned his employment at the Central Bank of Nigeria to concentrate on the practice of law and also focus on furthering his education to PhD level. Until recently, he was a Managing Partner at the law firm of H I Onoh & Co, a law firm which he co-founded in 2016.
Hon Ibenaku Onoh was practicing law before he was overwhelmingly elected to represent Enugu North constituency at the State Assembly in 2019. He was also elected as the chairman of young parliamentarians forum Enugu state, a position he has held to the satisfaction of the members
Today, he has successfully obtained a Doctorate Degree in Corporate law from the University of Nigeria Enugu campus.
