The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Screening Committee has disqualified three aspirants from participating in the October 30 national convention.

Convention Committee Chairman, Ahmadu Fintiri made the disclosure to reporters in Abuja.

The screening team submitted its report to the organising committee on Thursday, he announced.

Of the 31 candidates that indicated interest for national positions, 27 were cleared, one withdrawn and three disqualified.

The disqualified aspirants are Prof. Wale Oladipo, Okey Muo-Aroh and Dr Eddy Olafeso.

Oladipo was vying for the position of Deputy National Chairman – South.

Muo-Aroh and Olafeso wanted to contest the positions of National Secretary.

Fintiri said they were dropped because they filed a lawsuit with the intention of stopping the national convention.

“They took the party to court without exhausting the internal mechanism of settling your grievances.

“The committee felt you cannot also enjoy from the convention.

“The provision of Section 51 sub 1L in our party constitution spells out that you must exhaust all the internal mechanism.”

The governor said there must be discipline for any party or organisation to succeed.

Fintiri added that PDP must move away from the past and open a new chapter for the benefit of all Nigerians.
