The Dean of students affairs, University of Port Harcourt, Dr. Wokocha Chima Chibuike, has thrown his weight behind the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices, POCACOV.
The Dean declared his support for the Nigerian Police initiative when POCACOV Volunteer Club Team, Rivers state chapter paid him a courtesy visit on 27th 0ctober, 2021.
Dr. Wokocha expressed optimism in the campaign promising to contribute his quota and work with relevant stakeholders to aid POCACOV execute planned program of action on community based crime prevention measures.
He also applauded the Nigeria Police Force under IGP Usman Alkali Baba on the wonderful initiative which is community driven and involving different stakeholders for problem solving.
While commending the team that paid him the visit, he revealed that he has been following the activities of POCACOV and is convinced that the program no doubt, contain all the veritable ingredients for sustainable solutions to youth challenges for a safe, peaceful and secured community and assured to throw his weight towards ensuring that the activity POCACOV IN MY FAMILY is deepened.
Earlier, the Chairman Rivers state POCACOV Volunteer Club who’s also the Chairman for safer schools and community, Amb Eke Onwuka accompanied by SP Ilium Peter and other thanked the Dean for identifying with the noble Nigeria Police Force Community policing Initiative.
They informed him that the campaign has been doing a lot in the areas of youth reorientation where various activities were deployed. Some of the activities include: POCACOV IN MY COMMUNITY,. POCACOV SCHOOL CHESS Game, POCACOV PASSION TALK FOR SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITIES ,POCACOV INTEGRITY DEBATE FOR SCHOOLS AND YOUNG MINDS and many more as contained in its primary innovation stage. The campaign is in its secondary innovations stage which contains programs and activities for participations and problem solving beginning from the family.
Highlight of the visit was the formal unveiling and Decoration of the University Dean with POCACOV T-shirt and cap.
