Anambra State Chapter Of The Emerging Leaders Forum Of Nigeria(ELFON), has said that the forthcoming Anambra gubernatorial election isn’t negotiable to avoid any breach of the Constitution which might usher in an “alien government” in the state.

The forum which is a strong coalition of leaderships of deeply patriotic, progressive, vibrant young minds and youth fronts, such as Anambra State Council Of Youths, Catholic Youth Organization Of Nigeria, National Youth Council Of Nigera, National Union Of Anambra State Students, Youth Assembly Of Nigeria, National Union Of Road Transport Workers, Union Of Anambra Keke Napep Drivers, Anambra State Mechanics Association, Partners for good Governance among others, made the comment after their summit in Awka, the Anambra State capital on Tuesday, 2nd November, 2021.

ELFON said their members are well informed about the need for the circumstantial summit and have resolved to responsively enforce sanity and security before, during and after the election.

In the communique issued after the summit, ELFON said that “holding of a CREDIBLE, FREE and FAIR Governorship Election to enthrone an acceptable state leadership for Ndi Anambra, as already scheduled for November 6th 2021 by the Independent National Electoral Commission, is not NEGOTIABLE.”

The communique which was signed by Amb. Celestine Uchechukwu Obi – ELFON Secretary, Anambra state and Comr. Chineze Charles Ezeaniekwe – Anambra state YAN Ambassador enjoined “accredited Law Enforcement Agents to collaborate with Emerging Leaders Forum of Nigeria and eminent patriotic bodies in Anambra to forestall VOTER APATHY.

“That the Federal Government is urged, as a matter of urgency to invoke concrete audacity to transparently address the imbalance in appointments and core issues of injustice that catalyzed agitations in the Southeast and other zones of the country for National Unity.

“That the current destruction of the IGBO ECONOMY through the imposition, brazen extension and mischievous hijack of the SIT AT HOME ORDERS in the South East, shall receive a permanent solution in the coming Emerging Leaders National Unity CONFAB.”

The Anambra State Ambassador for Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices, Prince Orjiakor, who also spoke to the delegates charged them on the need to shun cultism and other vices and help in entrenching peace in their immediate environment.
