After weeks of Speculations and controversy, Coach Abdul Maikaba is set to take over as the new Technical Adviser of the flying Antelopes of Enugu following his arrival to the state.
His arrival in Enugu today, puts to rest the insinuations that the contract signing has hit the rock as the former Plateau United Coach on arrival to the Coal City state, went straight to Rangers office to get himself acquainted and introduced to the backroom staff.
Former Rangers coach, Salisu Yusuf, recently left the Enugu side to pitch tent with Kano Pillars before the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) re-assigned him to his former position as Super Eagles assistant coach.
Speaking to Rangers General Manager, Prince Davidson Owumi and other members of staff, Coach Maikaba said coaching Enugu Rangers is the dream of every coach in the Nigerian League and expressed happiness to have been given the job and expressed optimism that he will get the cooperation and all necessary support needed for him to excel in the job.
“I am happy to be here, it is the dream of every coach in Nigeria to be in Rangers and here I am today. I am ready to hit the ground running.”
Speaking on behalf of the Board, led by Festus Oshaba-Onu, Management and Staff of Rangers Management Corporation, the General Manager welcomed the Coach Maikaba to Enugu.
“We are happy to have you in our Technical Crew as the Technical Adviser, we officially welcome you to Enugu and hope you will bring your wealth of experience in Nigeria Professional Football to Rangers. We, also on behalf of the Executive Governor of Enugu State, Rt.Hon.Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and the entire Enugu State, say welcome and urge you to feel at home.”
Coach Abdul Maikaba also watched the evening training session of the Rangers Football Club at the Cathedral.
Its also learnt that all necessary arrangements have been concluded for the unavailing of the new Technical Adviser.
