With less than 24 hours to Anambra governorship election, the Youths Initiative for Peace Justice and Reorientation (YIPJAR) has called for free, fair and credible electoral processes in the state.

YIPJAR in a statement released in Enugu on Friday, 5th November, said their call became pertinent following the spate of insecurity reports in the state as is currently trending on social media.

Engr. Uzor Lawrence, the President and CEO of YIPJAR maintained that “Anambra state should be a pace setter in credible election.

YIPJAR President in a statement signed by Comr. Sunny Ijegalu, his SSA Media, maintained that “any form of harassment, intimidation and bullying of voters,” should be eschewed because “it is time the people are allowed to elect their own leaders rather than the usual imposition.”

“We call on the good people of Anambra state especially the youths to make no mistakes for whatever reasons which includes but not limited to any monetary inducement, empty promises, to coarse and confuse them.

“Anambra people should know that their actions and decisions during November 6th elections will determine the future and progress of their state till 2029.”

The group also enjoined their members in the state to vote wisely and monitor their votes to ensure that what they voted was counted at the end of the day.

“We ask our teeming members in Anambra state to vote wisely and bring on board a true leader that will place Anambra state on the path of rapid economic recovery, and bring solution to the increasing insecurity and devastating unemployment rate ravaging the state and Nigeria at large.

“Finally, the good people of Anambra should ensure that they monitor their votes and election results till the end of the elections.”
