The Governor of Enugu State, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi on Tuesday, visited the Enugu State Broadcasting Service (ESBS) headquarters which was gutted by early morning fire.
Some sections of the office which is located at Independence Layout, Enugu, went up in flames around 5:30 am.
“The fire started shortly after the station opened around 5.30am. The fire started from a circuit breaker when the people on duty attempted to change power supply to generator,” a source at the station told our correspondent.
“The fire affected to presenters offices but couldn’t enter the newsroom following the timely intervention of men of Enugu State Fire Service, but the ceiling in the passage was affected,” the source said.
The governor who visited the scene to see things for himself, took necessary actions which will ensure that the station- radio and television, gets back on air in the shortest time possible.
