…Calls on residents to assist command with information to unravel cause of death of a body discovered along Abubor Nnewichi road
The Anambra State Police Command Tuesday, said her operatives “have embarked on robust patrol around the state with the aim to apprehend suspected hoodlums sighted along Ekwulobia, Umunze road this morning.”
DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, PPRO Anambra State Command, in a statement said: “Preliminary information revealed that” the hoodlums in attempt to disarm a mobile Police officer on patrol along Umunze road started shooting sporadically. The Mobile Police Officer returned the fire immediately, engaged the hoodlums which made the gun men flee the scene.”

In another development, the police also called on Ndi Anambra and especially residents of Otolo Nnewi to “assist the Command with information to unravel the cause of death of a body discovered along Abubor Nnewichi road.
“The Command therefore encourages citizens to call command control room number on 07039194332 or Command Public Relations Officer on 08039334002 incase you have any information to aid the investigation. The Command also especially in this regard assures Confidentiality to any information given.
“Information reveals that Police Operatives attached to Otolo Nnewi division while on confidence building patrol on 7/02/2022 at about 11:30am discovered a lifeless body of yet unidentified young man along abubor Nnewichi, Nnewi road. The body which has mark of violence on it, was recovered and deposited to the morgue for autopsy.”
