A corp member with the National Youth Service Corps, Nnamani Ugochukwu, has organized a 3-day Entrepreneurial workshop and empowerment seminar, for the people of Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna, to empower the youths and contribute to their mental health development.
Speaking to JOURNALIST101, Ugochukwu who hails from Enugu state, a first class graduate of political science, Coal City University, and a human resource professional, said the desire to liberate youths from prolonged laziness and contribute to the lives of the members of the community, birthed the initiative.
He said: “I took it upon myself to liberate the youths from prolonged laziness and instill in them attitudinal behaviour capable of contributing meaningfully to the economy of the community that has been ravaged by Ceaseless attacks.”
The initiative which held in Zonkwa, benefited 222 youths who were certified in cosmetology, bakery, makeup and digital skills, after training.
Also, the sum of N105, 000.00 was given to 9 participants to enable them start a business in the various areas of their training. Some were given scholarships for their jamb and WAEC examinations, free medical services were given as well, among others.
Graced by the Executive chairman, Zangon Kataf Local Government and many other prominent guests, the event which was a huge success, brought a deal of commendation for its convener, with the Bajju youth leader noting that the Corp Member be awarded as the Corps member of the year because of his zeal towards human development in the community.
