Ramon 'Hushpuppi' Abbas and Abba Kyari

A suit filed by a group under the aegis of Northern Peace Foundation, to stop the police and the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) from arresting and extraditing DCP Kyari has been stalled due to the absence of the presiding judge, Justice Donatus Okorowo.

The suit filed on Aug. 9, 2021, was before Justice Ahmed Mohammed, was reassigned to Okorowo and came up for hearing before him on Jan 12 but could not proceed due to the absence of counsel to the plaintiff and the respondents in the suit.

The matter which was slated to hold today was stalled when a court official consequently announced April 4, 2022, as the new date for the hearing of the suit.

The foundation, in a suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/854/2021, sought to stop the police and the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) from temporarily arresting and extraditing DCP Kyari.

Kyari is wanted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) over links with Nigerian Ramon Olorunwa Abbass, popularly known as Hushpuppi in alleged multi-.million naira advanced fee fraud.
