The lawmaker representing Kachia Kagarko Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives, Gabriel Zock has been remanded for alleged land fraud.
Justice Halilu Yusuf of the Maitama Division of the FCT High Court on Thursday ordered that Mr Zock be kept in EFCC custody.
Zock is being arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on a two-count charge of allegedly defrauding his victim, one Adeyemi Kamar to the tune of N150 million.
According to the anti-graft agency, the lawmaker scammed his victim of the amount under alleged false pretences that he would assist the victim to influence the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory to secure Right of Occupancy for his property at Guzape area of Abuja.
The anti-graft agency also said that Mr Zock collected another N35 million from Mr Kamar to facilitate and obtain the title of the land under false pretence.
The commission said the offence contravened the provisions of Section 1(1)(a) of the Advanced Fee Fraud and other fraud related offences Act, 2006 and punishable under Section 1(3)of the same Act.
However, Mr Zock pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Justice Halilu adjourned the case until February 16 for the hearing.
