The Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has reversed its earlier decision postponing its national convention indefinitely.

The Governor Mai Buni-led convention planning committee, had Monday afternoon, written to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), announcing that the party would not go ahead with the planned national convention of February 26.

A fresh letter dated 21st February and addressed to the Independent National Electoral Commission indicates that the convention will now take place on March 26, the date earlier slated for the conduct of its zonal congresses.

Announcing the new development to newsmen after the closed-door meeting, National Secretary of the party, John James Akpanudoedehe, said the preparation for the national convention will commence on 24 of March, 2022, while the zonal congresses will hold before the national convention slated for 26 of March, 2022.
