Journalist101 has obtained the photos of the unknown gunmen killed by security operatives in Enugu on Wednesday.
The gunmen were responsible for the attack on a polling unit at Akpugo, Nkanu West Local Government Area, killing scores and setting vehicles ablaze during the just concluded Enugu Council elections.
JOURNALIST101 gathered that the recovery of the bodies followed a tip off received by troops of 82 Division Nigerian Army in collaboration of Nigerian Police while they were on their way to bury the killed members.
“During the intelligence driven operation around Centenary Estate Obeagu Uno on 24 February 2022, the joint security team recovered the following item; 7 AK 47, 2 Pump Action Rifles, 10 Magazines, 8 Cartridges, 74 Rounds of 7.62mm Special, One hand grenade among other items,” the police said while receiving the bodies and arms recovered during the operation at 82 Division Garrison Command.
This recent development confirms our earlier report that joint security operatives have recovered the bodies of the unknown gunmen gunned down in Enugu.
Commenting on the operational exploit, the Nigerian Army assured the residents of South East of their commitment to restore a lasting peace to the region.
