The Federal House of Representatives has voted against the proposed life pension for the leaders of the National Assembly.
The bill which proposed life pension for presiding officers of the National Assembly, is listed among the bills in the ongoing amendment to the 1999 Constitution.
A total of 162 members voted for the provision while 193 voted against it.
Three other members abstained from the voting process.
The votes didn’t meet the stipulated two-thirds or 240 of the 360 members of the House.
