Chelsea owner, Roman Abramovich has reportedly offered to sell off the club to interested buyers.

Abramovich has come under various attacks over his alleged ties with the Russian President, Vladimir Putin of which he has denied.

Swiss billionaire Hansjorg Wyss has confirmed that he and three other potential buyers have been approached to buy Chelsea from Roman Abramovich.

Wyss, who is reported to have a net worth of £4.36billion, says it is Abramovich that is trying to engineer an auction, not the other way around.

“Like all other oligarchs, he is in a panic,” Wyss told Swiss newspaper Blick. “Abramovich is trying to sell all his villas in England. He also wants to get rid of Chelsea quickly. I and three other people received an offer on Tuesday to buy Chelsea from Abramovich.

Wyss said the Russian Oligarch is asking in excess of £2 billion

“Abramovich is currently asking far too much. You know, Chelsea owe him £2 billion.

“As of today, we don’t know the exact selling price. I can well imagine starting at Chelsea with partners. But I have to examine the general conditions first. But what I can already say, I’m definitely not doing something like this alone. If I buy Chelsea, then with a consortium consisting of six to seven investors” he added.
