Denis Kireev, A Ukrainian peace negotiator has been reportedly shot dead as talks to end the Russia-Ukraine war is still on going.
Kireev, 45, according to Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence, was said to be a spy and former banker who was killed during an operation to ‘defend the nation’
The government had hailed him a hero hours after his death. But MPs had earlier claimed he had committed “treason” and was executed by the Ukrainian intelligence agency.
Interfax-Ukraine reported that Ukrainian MP Oleksiy Honcharenko wrote on his Telegram channel: “During the arrest, the Security Service of Ukraine shot dead a member of the Ukrainian negotiating delegation Denys Kireev. He was suspected of high treason.”
Both Russia and Ukraine have made claims about his alleged spying activities, each blaming him of working for the other side.
