Two more governorship aspirants on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have withdrawn from the race.
This is coming hours after one of the top leading aspirants under PDP Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi withdrew from the party’s Tuesday primary election for the July 16 governorship poll.
Dele Adeleke and former Secretary to the Osun State Government, Fatai Akinbade announced their withdrawal from the primary poll.
Adeleke said he withdrew to work for PDP leadership to win the gubernatorial poll in the state.
He said, “PDP is my party and I am fully ready to work for the party to win the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state”.
Meanwhile, Akinbade in a statement, said he was doing it to respect the decision of the party elders who have named Prince Dotun Babayemi as the preferred aspirant of the party.
To this effect, the former SSG has declared his support for Prince Dotun Babayemi who has been chosen by the party elders.
