These pictures are as despicable as they are morally repugnant. Those who did this are either devoid of emotional intelligence or they were “motivated” by the real killers of the Super TV Boss, the late Mr Ataga.
This is an egregious assault on not just the victim’s family but the entire country.
Has this kind of beauty contest been going on in our prisons? Who are the past winners? Why was this particular one PUBLICISED?
Even if this girl would take part in recreational activities in the prison, why not allow her settle in first? Why the rush? Before you start reforming or “correcting” someone, since it is a “Correctional Facility”, why not allow the person get convicted so you can now have valid premise to start your correction? Chidimma just got there for God’s sake!
And why the PUBLICITY?? Like, what aim was the PUBLICITY meant to achieve????
I thought they said justice is a three way thing; Justice for the victim, for the accused as well as for the society. Why are these people only concerned about Chidimma without any care as to the victim’s family as well as the society at large?
There are female inmates who have spent yearS in that particular prison. I personally know some. There are those whose cases have been concluded in court. There are others who are serving time for less serious crimes.
But,
Of all those people, it is Chidimma Ojukwu, the prime suspect….scratch that, a GIRL WHO CONFESSED to a murder that shook the entire country, a girl whose case just got to court, a girl who barely got to the prison and the same girl whose case is fraught with serious wild spread rumors of cover up by some very powerful people who are believed to be the real killers of the late Mr Ataga seeing as even Ikenga, my two month old son knows Chidimma could not have singlehandedly tied and murdered an amateur athlete without sustaining serious injury herself, this is the girl they brought in to win the contest and to drive home their dark motive, THEY CHOSE TO PUBLICIZE IT.
It strains credulity to believe this is not a bold move to mine public sympathy for Chidimma as well as prepare people’s mind for when the court will eventually discharge and acquit her based on the weakness of the evidence presented by the prosecution.
No matter how you look at it, this is a MORAL TRAGEDY.
Let me be very clear, if a prime suspect involved in the murder of someone related to me is treated this way by the state, I swe@r t0 God, I will take it up0n myself to create justice MY 0WN WAY or d!e trying.
