The jostle for who becomes the next Senator to represent Enugu West Senatorial zone in the red chamber took a new turn over the weekend following the position of ‘Enugu West Professionals’.
The group which is made up of professionals from across the 5 Local Government Areas in Enugu West Senatorial district is angling for a former member of the House of Representatives, Dr Ogbuefi Ora Ozomgbachi, to become the next Senator of the zone.
The group in a statement issued on Saturday by their coordinator, Hon. Chibuike Okafor, said Ozomgbachi has the requisite experience to be on the saddle courtesy of the experience he garnered at the green chamber between 2003 and 2015.
He posited that, as a technocrat and someone who out performed others while in the House of Representatives, Dr Ozomgbachi is well suited to continue from where the current Senator will stop.
“We have seen the need as a people for quality representation especially at a high level such as the Red Chambers, hence, our resolve to endorse a quality and experienced successor such as Ozomgbachi.
“Having toured round our zone, taking cognizance of the fact that, the position, has been occupied by our brother from Awgu/Aninri/Oji Federal constituency, it is the turn of Udi/Ezeagu Federal constituency to produce the next Senator.
“Ozomgbachi touched almost all the wards in Udi /Ezeagu Federal constituency with projects that have direct impact on the people.
It is on record that in the areas of infrastructural development, Education, health and human capital development made meaningful impact which are verifiable in Udi/Ezeagu federal constituency.
The group further congratulated Dr Ogbuefi Ozomgbachi on his achievements in the field of education, by bagging the highest Academic Certificate in Public Administration at the University of Abuja.
They assured him of their readiness to purchase the expression of interest and nomination forms for him, once he indicates interest to run for the highly coveted position stressing that: “He is a good mentor to Enugu West Youths”
“We want to assure him that we are ready to purchase expression of interest and nomination forms for him once he decides to run for the position, because, Enugu West needs a personality like Ozomgbachi to represent them in Abuja.”
