A Federal High Court in Abuja has on Wednesday, fixed April 11 to deliver Judgement on the suit seeking to declare the seat of Hon. Yakubu Dogara, vacant, following his defection to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
Dogara, who was a former Speaker of the House of Representatives, was in 2019, re-elected on the platform of the PDP to represent Dass, Tafawa Balewa and Bogoro Federal Constituency of Bauchi State at the National Assembly but defected to the All Progressive Congress, APC.

The PDP had in a suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/883/2020, approached the court, asking it to declare Dogara’s seat vacant following his defection to the APC.
The matter which was in January fixed for March 23, 2022, was later shifted to April 11 by Justice Donatus Okorowo citing that the Judgement was not ready.
Joined in the suit with Dogara are the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and the APC.
