Rt. Hon. Ofor Chukwuegbo, the member, representing Enugu North and South Federal Constituency at the House of representatives, has Inaugurated his campaign coordinators across the state.
At the event held at Bon Sunshine hotels, Enugu on 24th March, the lawmaker said the action is preparatory for his governorship ambition.
Ofor expressed optimism that the collaboration between him, his friends and political associates will make his governorship Project a dream come through with the help of the almighty God.
In his speech, he acknowledged the enormous task challenge facing them and charged his coordinators christened “Team Ofor” to brace themselves because the task ahead isn’t a tea party.
“You already know about the project and to an extent, the challenges facing us. You might even discover along the line that, as gallant foot soldiers, what you bring to the table, the sacrifice you make, risk you bear, far outweighs what I’m in a position to offer as your aspirant.
“We’re not taking anything for granted, meaning, we have to do the needful and the needful in this instance, is to work hard as a committed, United team of PDP faithful, to give ourselves the best chance possible art the fort coming party primaries.”
He went further to assure them about his commitment and seriousness in the project, adding that; “the power we seek, is to have the opportunity to add value, improve on services rendered to our folks, the power to continue to make government accessible to the people and make lives of Enugu people better.
He praised the current administration of Rt. Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and urged his supporters to: “Forget the naysayers, so much has happened, still happening in our dear state ;an indicative of prudent, sensible judgement in the application and dispensation of available resources by the incumbent government on the basis of needs.
“We intend to do even more in this regard.”
In his remarks, the Director General of Hon Ofor Chukwuegbo Gubernatorial campaign organisation, Hon Chiene I Chiene stated that the project is something whose time has come.
According to him, “Hon Ofor is man full of capacity, eagerness, vision and commitment to take Enugu to another level.
“Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuany has done well and Hon Ofor has all it takes, to capitalise on that, and make Enugu an enviable habitat to others.
“He has grown through the ranks, has good family background as a prince, has business acumen as a successful business man, was a one time Senior Special Assistant to the Governor, A former Enugu State House of Assembly member, before the Federal House of representative, where he is currently doing well.”
He noted that the coordinators are drawn from the 260 Political Wards and 17 Local Government Areas and consultations are ongoing and everything is being put in place to assure His Excellency (Ugwuanyi) that this campaign is grassroots driven.
Hon. Chiene went further to state the the mandate of Team Ofor is to deepen the message of Hon. Chukwuegbo to all the nooks and crannies of the state and also tell the people of Enugu State about the good works of the Governor.
Highlight of the event was the inauguration of the 17 Local Government and 260 ward coordinators of Hon Offor Chukwuegbo Gubernatorial campaign organisation.
