A chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Joe Igbokwe, has suggested that the price for the expression of interest and nomination forms of the party for president be increased to half a billion (five hundred million naira).

To the chagrin of many, the APC on Wednesday, announced that the price of the forms will cost as much as one hundred million naira (N100, 000, 000) while the price for governorship form goes for fifty million naira.

The outrageous fee attracted condemnation from the public, including party stalwarts.

But for the Nnewi-born politician; the price is should be raised to N500m “so that the boys will work away,” adding that to get a “good, great and wonderful president deserves spending that kind of money given what he will chair.”

In a series of posts on his Facebook page on Wednesday, Igbokwe went on to say that even if the money is raised to one billion, his principal, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has the people that will raise the money.

“if you like raise it to one billion naira, thousands of people Asiwaju has built over the past 30yrs will raise the money.

“Asiwaju no be small boy ooo. Na papa of all ooooo,” he said.
