Lawmaker representing Ogun Central at the Nigerian Senate, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has declared his intention to contest the 2023 presidential race.
Amosun, a former governor of Ogun State, is the Chairman Senate Committee on Capital Market.
His intention to contest for President was contained in a letter read by Senate President Ahmad Lawan at plenary today.
According to the letter, Amosun said he will formally declare for the race on May 5 at the Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja.
Amosun is the third Senator under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, to join the presidential race after Rochas Okorocha and Orji Uzor Kalu.
