Following the killing of one person on Thursday in Quanpan Local Government Area of Plateau state during a crisis that erupted in the area, the Quanpan Local Government Area of the state has imposed a dusk-to-dawn curfew.

Reports says a bus belonging to the Plateau State Council of the Nigerian Union of Journalists and another car were set ablaze during the crisis.

Senator representing Plateau South, Nora Daduut, and her entourage were lucky to escape alongside some journalists who were coming back from a function.

In a statement on Thursday night, Secretary of the Council Area, Gideon Dashe, announced the curfew.

The statement read, ā€œFollowing a review of security breaches in Namu on Thursday April 28, 2022, the authorities of Quaan Pan Local Government Council of Plateau State, hereby impose a dusk to dawn curfew in Namu town and its environs with immediate effect.

ā€œBy this announcement, citizens of the area are expected to remain indoors, until further notice while security operatives have been mandated to take charge of the town.

ā€œCitizens are advised to remain law abiding and avoid any action(s) that will cause further breaches.ā€
