Many travelers have been kidnapped after suspected terrorists attacked the Abuja-Kaduna highway along Kateri general area on Tuesday evening.
The incident which happened around 04:30pm was said to have left many people, including women and children terribly injured.
The number of people abducted is still unclear, but sources says over 30 persons were taken away by the terrorists.
An eyewitness said a Zamfara State Transport Authority 18 seater bus, one Peugeot 406, two Toyota Corolla, a Golf, and several other vehicles were attacked by the terrorists.
Although the authorities were yet to issue a statement, report on Tuesday night indicated that the hoodlums wielding dangerous weapons descended on the Kaduna axis of the highway where the shot sporadically and moved the passengers into the bush.
This is coming less than two months after terrorists ambushed a Kaduna bound train on the 28th of March, killing at least eight persons and kidnapping several.
Some of the people kidnapped on the ill-fated 28th March are still in captivity.
