Atleast five persons have been reportedly killed in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State following an attack by suspected fulani herdsmen on Friday.

Reports says the herdsmen attacked Tse Alashi, Kaambe community in Guma local government around 1:00 pm today (Friday).

According to the source, Four persons were killed on their farm while another two were reported killed at a site where they mould burnt bricks.

Confirming the attack, the Chairman of Guma local government, Caleb Aba, stated that fulani herdsmen stormed the community in the afternoon.

“The incident happened around 1:00 pm this afternoon, some Fulani herders invaded a community called Tse Alashi and killed three people who were working on their farm. They also moved to a place where people were laying burnt bricks and killed two people,” he said.

Also confirming the attack, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Catherine Anene, said she was aware of the attack but isn’t aware of any killing as she awaits reports from the team of officers drafted to the area.
