Crisis has erupted in the Mowe-Ofada area of Ogun state, leaving atleast two persons dead.

The crisis which reportedly started in late of Thursday, continued untill Friday morning was said to be caused by a clash between two rival groups.

An eyewitness said a dead body was found around the Mowe area on Friday morning causing fear among residents as most shops are yet to open for business.

Confirming the report, the Ogun police Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the crises was between two rival cult groups.

“It is a fight between two rival groups. One of the cultists was killed yesterday (Thursday) but the situation has been brought under control,” Oyeyemi said.

“We have arrested a suspect in relation to the violence.”

In a related development, a similar crisis was said to have started around Iyana Ipaja area of Lagos State on Friday.

Although events around the Lagos violence is still sketchy, the police spokesperson in the state when contacted said he’s yet to be briefed on happenings in the area.
