A police officer have been reportedly killed during the House of Representatives primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party in Obudu, Cross River State.
The police officer was identified as Martins Mbang was shot at the Handmaid’s International Nursery and Primary School along the hospital road.
Confirming the incident, the State Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP Irene Ugbo said eight suspects have been arrested in connection with the killing.
“One of our officers was killed and another was injured. We have arrested eight suspects in connection with the incident,” Irene said.
The police spokesperson condemned the act regretting why such should be done when the main election is yet to take place.
