All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Umunneochi delegates have assured a frontline governorship aspirant, Mr. Etigwe Uwa (SAN), of support at the party’s governoship primary.

They spoke when Uwa visited the local government area for support ahead of the primary slated for May 29.

Uwa said he has the competence and capacity to tackle the challenges of the state, urging them to support his bid for the party’s governoship ticket.

He said having chaired the board of high profile organizations, he has garnered enough experiences to redeem the state to flourish.

Uwa lamented the state of Infrastructural decay, non payment of salaries and gratuities by the Okezie Ikpeazu led administration. He promised to change the narrative if elected as the next governor of Abia state.

Uwa assured the people of Umunneochi that the security and development issues of the area will be given priority when he becomes Governor.

The Chapter Chairman, while welcoming the governoship aspirant, said the time was ripe for him to lead the state, urging Uwa to help the council area tackle the issue of insecurity that has badly affected the socio-economic activities of the people.

Highlight of the gathering was the unanimous adoption of Uwa as their consensus candidate for the governoship ticket of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.

Similarly, delegates from Bende Local Government Area, have endorsed the silk to pick the Pro Igbo political party Guber ticket. .

The endorsement took place when Uwa met with the Delegates led by the Chairman of Bende chapter of APGA, Mr. Azubuike Peter Chijioke.

Meanwhile, Delegates who spoke at the venue of endorsement described Uwa’s governoship aspiration as the game changer for the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.

Addressing the delegates, Uwa told the delegates that he is in the race to redeem Abia from bad governance.

He said, “I am here to interact and speak to you because you’re very important to Abia State.

“For sometimes now, I’ve been doing consultations, I have moved round the state, something is clear when you move round. Abia State is not in good state. Abia state requires prayer, healing, redemption and restoration.

“Anywhere you go and say you’re from Abia state, people would tell you something is wrong. Everything is terrible; Our roads are bad. From here to Akwa Ibom, roads are good but here it is bad. Even Ebonyi is now better than Abia. Millions are taken as security votes, Pensions and salaries are not paid. When you look at it, you’ll realize there is an element of wickedness. This is why I looked at it and felt persuaded to come, to stop sitting at the fence.

“For us to make progress, we need to ask questions; how can we make progress as a state? I have used my legal skills to champion the course of the oppress. I fought pfizer to the US Supreme Court and won when no one gave us a chance. We can replicate it in Abia by redeeming our state to flourish.”

In his earlier remarks on behalf of APGA Bende Chapter, Azubuike Peter Chijioke, Chapter Chairman, noted that Uwa’s candidacy will serve as a saving grace for APGA in the 2023 general election.

He lamented the state of affairs in Abia state, saying “Abia state government is the most irresponsible in Nigeria today.

“Nigerians agree that Abia state is backward. We need a pathfinder. Someone that can transform the state. We desire change and it is only APGA that can do it.”
