Gunmen have kidnapped Prelate of the Methodist Church Nigeria, His Eminence, Samuel Kanu.
The cleric was reportedly abducted in Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia state, along the Enugu-Porthacourt express way along side two other Methodist bishops.
Those abducted with him were identified as the Methodist Bishop of Owerri Rt. Rev. Dennis Mark and the Prelate’s Chaplain.
The Spokesperson of the Abia state Police Command, SP Geoffrey Ogbonna, confirmed the incident.
“They were kidnapped in the afternoon on their way from a programme in the council area,” he said.
“It’s quite unfortunate. Efforts are on top gear toward his rescue as well as other priests with him.
“We solicit credible information from the public toward their rescue, please.“
