The Senator representing Imo East Senatorial District, Ezenwa Francis Onyewuchi has officially announced his defection to the Labour party.
In a letter addressed to the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, Senator Onyewuchi said: “I wish to inform Mr President and distinguished senators of my defection from the Peoples Democratic Party to the Labour Party.
“This is after due consultation with my family, constituents and supporters.”
Senator Ezenwa’s defection means that the Labour Party now have a Senator in the Red Chamber.
Similarly, Senator Haliru Dauda Jika, representing Bauchi Central announced his defection from the All Progressives Congress APC, to the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP.
In his defection letter, the senator cited lack 9f internal democracy as one of the reasons for his defection.
