Harrison Gwamnishu, a popular human rights activist, has announced that he will be running for election under Labour Party.
Gwamnishu who’s very popular on Facebook for many of his interventions on issues bothering on human right and assisting the people in need announced that he will be contesting for Delta State House of Assembly under the party.
Declaring his intention, he wrote:
“For every Nigerian 2023 is indeed a deciding factor in the unity of our great country. For many years we have sat on the fence and allowed our leaders be chosen for us by a structure we ought to have been part of but are now alien to. We have watched every facet of our economy been trampled upon and neglected and we have been tempted to ask “Who will bell the cat”?
“Following series of consultations across Nigeria and my dearly beloved local government area of Aniocha South as well as reactions from a mock survey conducted earlier in the year I Harrison Emefiena Gwamnishu do hereby officially declare my intention to run as a Member Representing the good people of Aniocha South Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly General Elections. This is coming after I have taken up the task these few months to highlight and observe certain challenges that we have been facing in the past dispensation, chief amongst the youths, women and children of our great constituency. I feel the pains, challenges, setbacks and the experiences of under development which has gained ascendancy over our polity and it is not in doubt that I can proffer solution lending credence to my past antecedents.
“In the coming days and weeks following my official declaration, I shall visit various wards, villages and homes making up the Aniocha South Constituency irrespective of party affiliations to solicit for your support and votes in the coming Elections as well as share my ideas and manifesto for a more prosperous Aniocha South.
“As part of my social responsibility to my community I have pioneered and engineered socio-infrastructural programmes which includes; Community face lift, Borehole and Street light projects and Housing project for indigent persons.
“I am also known for my renowned business and humanitarian networking success ( ie the popular Anioma Garri, BBI Nigeria to mention but a few) which has gainfully employed over 50 staff and multiple volunteers.
“I have duly obtained and submitted my nomination form and ready to walk the talk.
“In conclusion I invite all eligible voters to ensure that they have been registered to vote and get their PVCs.
“I am Harrison Emefiena Gwamnishu, and I am determined to Touch ALL, BY Touching ONE. #HarrisonDTHA2023.”
