The Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu has commended the Honourable Commissioners, Permanent Secretary and the staff of the Ministries of Basic and Post Basic Education for the successful launch of the Abia State Education Electronic Portal.
Dr. Ikpeazu who made the statement in his office in Umuahia when the operations and features of the Education Electronic Portal were demonstrated to him, described the electronic portal as a very robust digital platform and expressed delight that the Abia State Education sector now had in place, a comprehensive digital education management system that would serve as a model for the other states in the country.
Speaking earlier on behalf of the Abia State Education sector, the Honourable Commissioner for Basic Education, Chief Ukwu Rocks Emma stated that the Abia State Education Electronic Portal is a product of thorough and painstaking work by the crop of dedicated Civil Servants in the Ministry of Basic and Post Basic Education and expressed gratitude to the Governor for his solid support from the commencement to the conclusion of the project.
Chief Ukwu Rocks Emma disclosed that the electronic directory at the moment contains 4,385 school portals, reflecting the member of public and approved private school already uploaded and running on the platform and assured the Governor that the remaining 3,358 schools will be uploaded before the end of August, 2022.
Present at the presentation and documentation of the Education Electronic Directory were the Deputy Governor, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Chief Okey Ahiwe , the Honourable Commissioner for Post Basic Education, Sir Israel Mark, the Honourable Commissioner for Finance, Dr. Aham Uko, the Honourable Commissioner for Information, Dr. Eze Chikamnayo, the Honourable Commissioner, Documentation and Strategy, Ugochukwu Emezue, the Head of Service, Sir Onyii Wamah, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education Mr. Eze Ajuzie, the Chairman of the Abia State Universal Basic Education Board, Elder Okechukwu Analaba, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Sir Onyebuchi Ememanka and Heads of Departments in the Ministries of Basic and Post Basic Education.
