Ramon 'Hushpuppi' Abbas and Abba Kyari

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has on Monday, dismissed the suit filed by the Federal Government to extradite the suspended DCP Abba Kyari to the United States.

Kyari was indicted by the United States Goverment over his alleged link with the international fraudster, Ramon Abbas, also known as Hushpuppi.

The US government had written to the federal government of Nigeria to extradite Kyari to America for trial.

Filing the charge on behalf of the federal government, The attorney-general of the federation, Abubakar Malami, asked the court to allow Mr Kyari to be extradited to the U.S to face the charges against him.

In a Judgement on Monday, Justice Inyang Ekwo described the extradition request as “an abuse of court process” stating that Kyari was already standing a criminal trial before another court.

Recall that the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) had arrested and dragged Kyari to court over an alleged involvement in drug deals.
