Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra state has condemned in strong terms, the Sunday evening attack on Senator Ifeanyi Ubah’s Convoy which left over 5 persons dead.

Ubah, who represents Anambra South Senatorial District in the red chamber of the National Assembly, narrowly escaped death on Sunday when gunmen suspected to be assassins attacked his convoy and killed his aides and police orderlies.

The incident which happened at Enugwu Ukwu community, Njikoka Local Government Area of the state, saw Ubah’s vehicle riddled with bullets with bodies of some of his orderlies and aides lying dead in their cars.

JOURNALIST101 earlier reported that Ubah through his media assistant, Kameh Ogbonna, said he was able to escape the attack because of the bulletproof vehicle he was riding in.

Reacting to the incident, Governor Soludo described the attack as the “last ditched-effort of a sinking boat” by criminal elements in the state.

Soludo, who condemned the attack in a statement issued by his Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, said his administration was determined to wipe out every act of criminality in the state.

He reassured the state’s people that all security agencies were on full alert to fish out the perpetrators of the heinous attack and made to face the full wrath of the law.

The governor, however, commiserated with the senator and the families of his aides killed as well as the state commissioner of police, for the policemen who also lost their lives.
